In August 2008 an exciting development to the established academic programmes will commence between the Adelaide and Pittsburgh campuses enabling students to spend a semester in the ‘sister’ campus and, in some cases, to undertake an internship prior to their studies commencing. The first cohort of Pittsburgh students has begun to arrive in Adelaide and we would like to take this opportunity of welcoming Laura Erion, Molly Peters-Stanley, Christie Callenback, Alan Eaton and Lauren Hudock to Adelaide. In the next edition of the e-newsletter readers will be given the opportunity of ‘meeting’ some these students and to learn a little more about their individual study plans and aspirations for the future. Adelaide-based students Megan Boundey, a Telstra Scholarship holder, and LingPei Lin, the recipient of an SA Government Scholarship, will be travelling to Pittsburgh to spend a semester there.
The Exchange Programme is an option available to students studying for either the MSPPM or MSIT degrees. They will be able to plan their academic progress secure in the knowledge that the courses offered at each campus are similar in content, enabling them to return to their home campus in time to graduate with their peers.
The option to study abroad provides a unique set of opportunities - students don't just get a great education, but a heightened perspective of the world in which they live and their ability to confidentially tackle many of the challenging global problems faced by world leaders in the 21st century.
Students attending either campus on exchange will find that their broadened educational experience will provide them with an international focus on issues which will impress prospective employers.
