Bridging Mathematics Course

 Xiayun Tan

Teacher of this course Ms Sandy Tan.

The Heinz School recognizes that for some scholars there is scope for undertaking a bridging mathematics course to meet assumed knowledge for various core courses within our degree programs. Core courses such as Empirical Methods for Public Policy and Management, Economics 1, and Decision Making under Uncertainty all draw on algebraic foundations.

Students whom have not taken these courses and (a) have a limited background in algebra, or (b) have not applied algebraic functions for some time, can now register for our Bridging Mathematics Course.

The course is designed particularly for incoming part-time students who need an intensive refresher course. The course will cover topics in algebra and other related mathematical areas that are intended to adequately assist students in their preparation for core courses that require these mathematical foundations.

The course will consist of six tutorial sessions (each of 2-hour duration) delivered once per week on a weeknight. The objective is to provide students an understanding of basic mathematical concepts and methods.

Anyone interested in learning more should contact the Director of Programs, Hayden MacGinnes on 08 8110 9904 or email hayden@andrew.cmu.edu

*Please note - this course is only available to students currently studying or that have received an offer letter to study at Carnegie Mellon University in Australia.
