Associate Dean receives 'Outstanding University Citizenship' award.

Brenda PeyserAssociate Dean of the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy & Management, Brenda Peyser is the proud recipient of an ‘Outstanding University Citizenship’ award.

The 2008 Andy Awards were announced at a university ceremony on September 12. The Andy Award for Outstanding Citizenship honours those who have made important contributions that benefit the entire university community.  Recipients commit their time and energy to working with others to improve and enhance Carnegie Mellon as a whole.

Carnegie Mellon University President Dr. Jared L Cohon noted in particular, that her work over the past few years to establish the campus in Australia, has been incredible.

Ms Peyser relocated from Pittsburgh to Adelaide in 2005 for 15 months to set the foundations for the campus. Among many other tasks, this included hiring staff and faculty, overseeing the initial stages of building construction, to building relationships with government and creating other university contacts. 

Executive Director of the Heinz campus in Adelaide Australia, Mr. Tim Zak says “Brenda worked tirelessly in both the US and Australia to lead an important new initiative for Carnegie Mellon. It’s amazing what she achieved in such a short time.  On behalf of everyone at Heinz-Australia, I congratulate Brenda on this richly deserved award”.
