About our Graduates
The Master of Science in Public Policy and Management (MSPPM) core curriculum is designed to provide public policy professionals with the skills they need to be effective leaders of the public interest. The Heinz School focuses on building students' skills in policy, management and technology, and strengthening their abilities to approach complex and unstructured problems and pursue novel solutions to critical social issues.
MSPPM graduates are employed around the world in governments, non-profits and virtually every industry in the private sector. As policy analysts, budget analysts, managers and consultants, among other positions, their work covers every area found in non-profit organizations, federal, state and local governments and private firms.
The Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program builds the technical skills and business acumen necessary for professionals to succeed in today's constantly changing digital world. Coursework encompasses the latest advances in the field of information technology and information systems. Through a blend of technical training and real-world experience, this degree program equips its graduates to navigate present and future business landscapes.
MSIT graduates are hired for a wide range of positions with governments, IT and strategy consulting firms, software companies, major corporations and start-ups. MSIT graduates constitute an international network of IT professionals.
Recruitment Services
The Career Services Manager can assist with the recruitment of talented professionals by:
- Advertising your organisation and positions to all current students and alumni.
- Receiving resumes and pre-screening them for your requirements
- Arranging interviews, appointment times and offices for on-campus recruitment
- Arranging Videoconference for Interviews if you are unable to attend campus
- Networking Events
Each year, the school hosts several networking events to provide a convenient forum for employers to meet our graduate students, faculty, staff and alumni. These informal cocktail-type receptions have proven successful in targeting qualified Heinz student candidates for permanent and/or internship employment, and many employers arrange interviews the following day at their sites.
Employers are encouraged to sponsor site visits for students to visit and learn more about their organizations, and you are welcome to bring a small supply of company literature to the event, as well as your business cards to pass out to students you meet.
Other Opportunities to be involved
Serve as Client for a Student Project
Project courses are an integral part of education at the Heinz School. Most students are required to complete a semester-long "Systems Synthesis" project prior to graduation. Projects have made a significant impact on local, national and international communities. Organizations who wish to sponsor and/or serve as a client for a Systems Synthesis project should contact the appropriate program director.
